Briana finished her mechanical engineering undergraduate in 2009 and became a licensed professional engineer in Ontario while working at SBES from 2008 to 2016. She earned a MASc in Sustainable Energy and Policy in May 2017 with her thesis on the analysis and design of a solar thermal system with seasonal storage.

After completing her role as Project Engineer for the design, construction, and commissioning of the Urbandale Centre for Home Energy Research, she moved to the National Research Council (NRC) in Ottawa. At the NRC, her research focused on nature based solutions, air quality, human factors, energy modelling, and high performance buildings.

In September 2018 Briana joined CENTRUS, as a Sustainability Consultant for the rehabilitation of the Parliamentary Centre Block project. Shortly thereafter she attained her Project Management Professional (PMP) designation and her LEED Green Associate. Professional and personal passions culminated in a Permaculture Design Certificate, an enriching experience and germane to the ever worsening global environmental crisis faced in 2022 and the precarious nature of today’s food, energy, and economic systems.
