    1. Contextual Note on These Sessions

Carleton University is reviewing its Sexual Violence Policy throughout the 2021-2022 academic year. As part of this process, we have committed to offering information and feedback sessions to solicit input from the campus community.

The objective of these sessions is to host a supportive, creative space wherein members of the community can provide their feedback on the Sexual Violence Policy. In advance of the session, we suggest participants read the revised draft of the policy with tracked changes (PDF 665 KB) and the feedback report from the listening phase (PDF 367 KB).

We encourage members of the community to actively participate while attending the feedback sessions at their own pace. This means that having cameras on will be optional and feedback can be shared by using the Zoom chat box, unmuting, etc.

We also encourage participants to review the EIC Zoombombing Response Plan (122 KB) which will be attached in an email once you have registered for a session. In the event that a disruption occurs in a feedback session, the actions outlined in the guide will be followed.

These information feedback sessions are open to all members of the specified audience. The facilitators in the session will facilitate the workshop as folks who are external to the consultation process. They do not have a specific sexual violence lens. This is to ensure that the process is not perceived as biased, and that all viewpoints are considered throughout.

If support is needed after the workshop, we encourage participants to contact the Sexual Assault Support Centre on campus at equity@carleton.ca or at 613-520-5622 or Health and Counselling Services.
