The Underhill Colloquium Planning Committee is pleased to announce that Dr Rhonda Hinther will be delivering the year’s keynote address on March 10th at 7:00 PM. The address and workshop will be held in English.
Dr. Hinther’s address, “Public History: From Classroom to Workplace,” will explore some of the innovative ways public history can be taught in the university classroom, experiential learning opportunities, and tips for the job market, with particular emphasis on the approach they are taking at Brandon University.
In conjunction with filmmaker Aaron Floresco, Dr. Hinther will be leading a workshop on March 11th, 10-11:30 am, focusing on history on film. They will be sharing their two very different paths to creation of historical films, as well as a discussing what the work involves, how students and new professionals might pursue such projects, and will be workshopping film ideas with participants.
