On April 9, 2015, MDS and the World Studies Reading Group held a series of free public events commemorating the work, legacy and continuing influence of Stuart Hall.
The first half of the day began with a screening of the award-winning film on the Komagata Maru incident, Continuous Journey (Ali Kazimi, 2004), followed by a discussion with its director, Professor Ali Kazimi (York University). (Podcast)
The second half of the day began with a screening of John Akomfrah’s film, The Stuart Hall Project (2013), followed by a round table discussion featuring Ali Kazimi (Podcast), Sarah Casteel (Podcast), Daniel McNeil (Podcast) and Aboubakar Sanogo (Podcast).
