IAS Course in May 2017: Migration Lives and Livelihoods in South Africa

The Institute of African Studies is very pleased that its African Studies Abroad course this May, Migration Lives and Livelihoods in South Africa, will be coordinated with a core course at the African Centre for Migration & Society at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg.

Starting on May 8th, the students from both courses at Carleton and Wits will be learning about the various social, health, political, and economic dynamics associated with migration in South Africa. Through three weeks of seminar discussions, workshops with leading academic and civil society experts, and site visits in Johannesburg, at the Wits Rural Facility near the Mozambican border and in Musina on the Zimbabwean border. It will be an immersive learning experience for all!
