This “Africa Abroad” course  is open to Carleton undergraduate students in African Studies, Music and other programs with second year standing or higher. No prior knowledge of music required.

Process for applying:

Please submit to Kathy Armstrong by November 15 a one-page explanation of why you wish to take the course. Please include any previous experience or ties you have with Africa and Music (previous courses, music background, relevant employment or volunteer experience etc. )

Be sure to include:

  • Full name and student number
  • Email address
  • Program of study and what year you are in
  • Name and email of two references (a Carleton Professor and someone outside the University who may know you more personally)
