The Ānako Indigenous Research Institute is dedicated to supporting ethical and meaningful research involving Indigenous participants and communities. Our vision is to assist in the respectful and reciprocal practice of Indigenous Research Methodologies, ensuring the effective use of these practices. We adhere to and incorporate the Ownership, Control, Access, and Possession (OCAP) Principles in all research related to Indigenous peoples and communities. The Ānako Indigenous Research Institute is committed to helping researchers establish meaningful connections with Indigenous peoples and communities.
Here at Anako we emphasize the importance of community-driven research, ensuring that the voices and perspectives of Indigenous communities guide our work. We value the integration of traditional knowledge with contemporary research methods, fostering innovation and mutual understanding. Our approach prioritizes transparency, accountability, and the empowerment of Indigenous communities to take an active role in the research process.
