The Institute of Biochemistry supports the Global Climate Strike of Friday, September 27, and recognizes this event as an important demonstration of our collective desire and need for action on climate change. This is a youth-led movement and we encourage the participation of students as well as faculty and staff.Image result for earth

While students remain responsible for academic obligations, the Institute of Biochemistry asks instructors not only to accommodate as much as possible, but to provide information to students on how accommodations will be made in their courses for those participating in this event.

To participate, either join us at 11:30 a.m. at Confederation Park for the march to Parliament Hill, or meet us at 10:30 a.m. at the Carleton O-Train station to travel as a group with fellow students, faculty and staff from across the university.

As Greta Thunberg stated, “If you can’t be in the strike, then of course you don’t have to, but I think if there is one day you should join, this is the day.”
