The Canada Europe Transatlantic Dialogue is pleased to share opening remarks from the March 2019 Jean Monnet Network conference, “The EU and Canada in the Face of Changing US Global Policy”, by Network scholar Leigh Sarty (Carleton University). These remarks discuss shifts in US foreign policy under President Trump.

The Jean Monnet Network on EU-Canada Relations: The EU and Canada in Dialogue is housed at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. The project supports a network involving Carleton University and four European partner universities: University of Antwerp, Technical University Darmstadt, Technical University Munich, and University of Latvia.

These remarks were presented at the Network workshop, The EU and Canada in the Face of Changing
US Global Policy, held on March 25, 2019, at Carleton University. The Workshop was co-funded by
the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union and by Carleton University.
