About the Canada-Europe Transatlantic Dialogue
The Canada-Europe Transatlantic Dialogue (CETD) brings together scholars and partner organizations to promote research on relations between Canada and Europe (including the European Union), and on policy challenges of common concern to Europe and Canada. We foster Canada-wide and trans-Atlantic research networks, as well as the dissemination of research findings to the Canadian policy community and to the public at large. Our aim is to enhance the quality of public discourse and encourage research-based assessments of diverse responses to pressing policy problems. poster-cetd-main
The project produces policy papers and briefs on current issues, as well as downloadable podcasts. We hold workshops on targeted policy problems, bringing together experts and practitioners, as well as public symposia where the wider public can meet academic researchers, policy makers, NGO representatives, and experts from the business community. The symposia promote discussion of solutions to today’s critical policy concerns.
This project was supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada under the Strategic Knowledge Cluster Program (2008-2017), as well as by participating universities, particularly Carleton University in Ottawa, where the project is housed at the Centre for European Studies (EU Centre of Excellence). CETD supports a searchable database of experts on Europe, EUCAnet
