On Nov 13 from 7-9pm (Dominion Chalmers, 355 Cooper St, Ottawa) CAFES Bulletin, CAFES and Safe Wings are planning an information workshop in efforts of supporting Ottawa residents to prevent bird window collisions happening at home.
Bird-window collisions are a significant cause of bird mortality. About 250,000 birds collide with glass structures in Ottawa each year – and about half are residential collisions. While the technologies exist to reduce bird-window collisions, community uptake has been slow. This is why CAFES and Safe Wings will be bringing together local expertise, business, and organizations to share information and to connect residents with accessible and affordable tools and products to combat the issue.
