On September 19 at 6 p.m (Zoom) with University of Ottawa, Dr. Nei Nunes-Neto will speak on  “Ethics & values ​​for positive socio-environmental transformation” and about the importance of approaching ethics and values, especially human virtues, in an education focused on positive socio-environmental transformation. Dr. Nunes-Neto will also share practical experiences in agroforestry education in Brazil.

Dr. Nei de Freitas Nunes-Neto is a Biologist and an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences (Federal University of Grande Dourados, Brazil). He leads projects in the fields of education, epistemology, and ethics at the National Institute of Science and Technology in Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary Studies in Ecology and Evolution (INCT IN-TREE). His main fields of interest are: science and environmental education (including education for socioenvironmental action), agroforestry systems, syntropic agriculture, philosophy of biology, and environmental philosophy (including functional language in ecology, and values and moral considerations of ecological systems).
