“David Chernushenko will speak on the subtle and not-so-subtle campaigns by fossil fuel companies and lobbyists to influence public opinion though disinformation, just when fact and real action are needed most.
David Chernushenko is an educator, author, speaker, film producer and explorer of “living lightly”in our personal and professional lives. He served two terms as an Ottawa city councillor, where he chaired the Environment and Climate Protection Committee and played a major role in promoting active transportation, complete streets, public health, supportive housing and a transition towards renewable energy.
David served as a member and vice chair of Canada’s National Roundtable on the Environment and the Economy and has advised governments and corporations around the world.
He has also written three books on sustainable management practices and produced three films: Be the Change; Powerful: Energy for Everyone; and Bike City, Great City. In 2019, David published the eco-political thriller Burning Souls. Now he leads bike tours of Ottawa, which he credits for keeping him healthy and sane.
