Food Futures is a dynamic team of passionate changemakers representing Algonquin/Ottawa’s youth voice for food and farming issues.
We are seeking youth aged 18-25 who care deeply about environmental and social justice looking to develop and apply their skills to to build a vibrant food future they can be proud of- one that centers social justice, equitable access, sustainable practices and community engagement.
There are two ways to be involved; youth can apply to be a part of the Food Futures Youth Council (5 hour total monthly commitment), or sign up for the Youth Food Crew to engage with Food Futures initiatives on a drop-in basis.
Food Futures is a unique opportunity for young people to:

Influence municipal food policy

Develop important transferable skills (ie. public speaking, argument building, delegating to City Council, campaign building)

Build connections with peers, community partners and professionals
