Join Create Change Collective for a creative afternoon exploring cyanotype printmaking and connections to climate. Workshop #3 of the Art in the Park series.
You must register in advance to participate in this workshop—spots are limited!
Join us for an evening workshop from 1 PM to 3 PM at Vincent Massey Park as part of Art in the Park—a series of outdoor sessions that blend art-making, climate emotion dialogue, and nature connection. This workshop offers a supportive, welcoming space for youth to explore their feelings about the climate crisis through creative expression, storytelling, and community care.
This session focuses on cyanotype printmaking, a hands-on photographic process using sunlight, natural materials, and pre-coated paper to create vivid blue-toned prints. We’ll begin by exploring the park and collecting items—like leaves, twigs, and textured materials—to use in our prints. Participants will then arrange their compositions and expose them to sunlight, watching the images develop in water and optional tea toning baths.
No prior experience is needed. All materials will be provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own small objects or natural materials to include in your piece.
This project has been made possible with mentorship support from @youthclimatelab and the Nature for Everyone, Everywhere program of @cpawsov. Thank you to @experiencehowl for funding this initiative!
