Abstract
This session will cover:
- key lessons learned from managing teams in the tech industry
- how to transition from an individual contributor to a leadership role
- recognizing individual strengths and differences to build productive teams
- learning to give feedback to help team members reach their full potential
Two hands-on sessions will help you discover your leadership style, and how leadership happens with or without a title.
Biography
Thusha Agampodi is the engineering manager at Magnet Forensics’ Ottawa office, where she has built a highly functional, diverse, collaborative engineering team.
Prior to Magnet, Thusha has over a decade of technical and leadership experience at BlackBerry. She holds a Computer Systems Engineering degree from Carleton University, and collaborates with universities and high schools to help advance women in STEM and is a mentor and advocate for diversity in tech.
Thusha has two children, aged 5 and 7, and is the co-founder of Friends in Knead, a charity event raising money for the Ottawa Food Bank.
