Global Consequences of Displacement from Russia's Invasion of Ukraine: Space, Place and Pluralism.
Global Consequences of Displacement from Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine: Space, Place and Pluralism, initiated by the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (EURUS) at Carleton University with the support of Architecture sans frontières Québec, R-SEAT, the Canadian Foreign Policy Journal (CFPJ), Ukrainian Diaspora Support Canada (UADSC), iAffairs, and the Global Centre for Pluralism, is an ongoing project highlighting human mobility stemming from the war in Ukraine.
The project aims to promote a greater understanding of the unique humanitarian crisis facing Ukrainians as a result of the Russian invasion on February 24, 2022 and the global consequences of movement from both Russia and Ukraine. This goal will be achieved through academic research and collaboration between scholars, the creation of policy briefs, and ongoing news updates on further developments in the displacement of Ukrainians.
The workshop “Global Consequences of Displacement from Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine: Space, Place and Pluralism,” took place on November 3rd-4th, 2022 at the Global Centre for Pluralism in Ottawa. The event assembled scholars from Canada, the United States, and Europe as well as NGO representatives and displaced persons. For more details on the workshop, including videos and participant information, see our Conference page.
