What is it?
The established 12-month period of time that an organization or government uses for accounting purposes and/or reporting. While ‘year end’ may refer to the fiscal year end, the University operates in the context of many “year ends”.
- For the University as a whole, our fiscal year is May 1st to April 30th.
- For many research and other government grants received by the University, the fiscal year on which we report is April 1st to March 31st.
- There is also the calendar year end, on which the University tracks and reports payroll earning and withholding amounts for its employees.
