Current role: Post-doctoral Fellow and Interim co-Director of ALiGN Media Lab at the School of Journalism and Communication. Senior Research Analyst at Public Safety Canada.
Length of time in this role: I’ve been a postdoc fellow since September 2018 and worked for Public Safety from March to September 2018.
Snapshot of your work duties:
At the lab, I manage and direct research and work with graduate and undergraduate students to create content and carry out research on alternative media and narratives. I also coordinate the Lab’s community outreach programs and develop community workshops. While a research analyst at Public Safety, I reviewed literature to analyze patterns and provide recommendations relevant to community engagement and resilience and the prevention of extremist violence. I was also part of cross-sectoral and interdepartmental collaborations.
