Halima Sobesan

Biography

Halima Sobesan is an Associate Producer at CBC Radio in Ottawa. She arrived in Canada in Fall 2015 to pursue a Master of Journalism degree. It was her first trip outside of her home country of Nigeria. She went on to secure internships at the Kingston Whig-Standard, 580 CFRA, and the Ottawa Sun. She was the recipient of the Diane King Stuemer award, which funded her research trip to Nigeria to report on former Boko Haram captives.
