Alexandra Schroeder

Alexandra Schroeder is completing a MSc in Health: Science, Technology and Policy. Her master’s research investigates a trauma- and violence-informed physical activity intervention for young pregnant and/or parenting individuals. Alexandra has a background in neuroscience and psychology and graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science from Carleton University in 2022. Her undergraduate research was conducted at The Royal’s Institute of Mental Health Research and focused on understanding and treating the cognitive deficits in depression and schizophrenia. Broadly, Alexandra is interested in health promotion and public health surveillance, particularly in the areas of mental health, family and gender-based violence and substance-related harms. Outside of academics, Alexandra works part time for the Public Health Agency of Canada and plays volleyball in a recreation league.
