Madeleine Sheppard-Perkins

After completing the Masters of Health: Science, Technology, and Policy program at Carleton University, Maddy stuck around to pursue a PhD with the Health Wellness and equity Research Group. Catalyzed by her commitment to equitable, trauma-informed access to health services, Maddy’s PhD research dovetails health geography and community-based approaches to better understand how spaces and places impact access to health promotion services for those experiencing sexual- and gender-based violence. In her free time, you can find Maddy being way too competitive in recreational sports leagues, marinating in the forest, or scoping out her next Historical Fiction novel.
