IEEE Ottawa Young Professionals Affinity Group (YPAG) has been awarded the 2020 IEEE Young Professionals Hall of Fame Award. This award is a certification that IEEE Ottawa YPAG has been classified at the top of all YPAGs worldwide based on their 2019 activities. For the same year, IEEE Ottawa YPAG has been awarded The 2019 Outstanding affinity group by the IEEE Ottawa Section and the 2019 IEEE Canada YPAG of the Year Award by IEEE R7.

With over 50 volunteers under the leadership of Dr. Zied Bouida (2018 – Sept. 2019) and Mohamed Emara (Oct. 2019 – Present), IEEE Ottawa YPAG has established itself as a leading affinity group within the IEEE Ottawa Section. They have organized numerous impactful technical and social events, as well as the Wireless in Space and Extreme Environments (WiSEE) International Conference. They are also known for their successful collaborations with other affinity groups including Women in Engineering (WiE), student branches, university departments, and industry. Their events have reached a diverse group of young professionals in academia and industry, and senior undergraduate students who are soon to be young professionals.

The IoT Lab Team is proud to have most of its members involved with IEEE Ottawa Young Professionals. Professor Mohamed Ibnkahla has greatly contributed to this success by invited distinguished speakers and organizing several events and seminars that are jointly organized with the IEEE Ottawa Young Professionals Affinity Group.
