Grand Hall at the Museum of History

The Canadian Museum of History collects, studies, preserves and presents the human history of Canada and the cultural diversity of its peoples. The museum’s permanent galleries explore Canada’s 20,000 yeas of human history with a rotating program of special exhibitions. The Museum of History is home to the Canadian Children’s Museum and an IMAX 3D theatre.

Special exhibits in June include “Fragments of Humanity: Archaeology in Quebec“, and “Neanderthal”.  According to the Museum, the latter exhibit draws upon the most recent scientific discoveries on the genus Homo, and comes from the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle (France). It brings together, for the first time, exceptional fossils rarely shown to the public outside Europe.
