Accommodations for the 10th International Sustainability Transitions Conference are available at three hotels in Ottawa’s downtown core. They are all within walking distance from one another as well as the many cafes, pubs, and restaurants located on Elgin street to the east and Sparks street to the north. We have secured a block booking for IST participants at these three hotels available for rooms between Sunday, June 23 and Friday, June 28. These rooms will be available until the cut off date (different for each hotel) or until all rooms have been booked.
Alt Hotel – Deadline: May 16
Alt Hotel by Le Germain is a modern hotel located in the heart of Ottawa’ business district. Alt Hotel offers complimentary wifi, and is both child and pet friendly. The Altcetera Café located in the building is open 24 hours, offering grab-and-go breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as evening cocktails and light snacks.

ARC Hotel – Deadline: May 24
The ARC is a luxury boutique hotel perfectly located in the heart of downtown Ottawa. The ARC is within three blocks walking distance of Parliament Hill as well as the ByWard Market, one of Ottawa’s premier destinations for shopping, dining, arts, and entertainment. The ARC offers complimentary Wi-Fi, in-room Keurig coffee makers, air conditioning, international plug adapters, and other amenities.

The Lord Elgin – Deadline: May 3
Located across from Confederation Park and the National Arts Centre, the Lord Elgin is a historic luxury hotel in Ottawa’s downtown core. The Lord Elgin provides complimentary wifi, a Starbucks location onsite, and a fitness centre with a lap pool. The Lord Elgin is home to the Grill 41 Restaurant and Bar featuring Canadian cuisine made from locally sourced ingredients.

Alternative Accommodations
Conference participants seeking more affordable lodgings may wish to consider other hotels, bed and breakfasts, hostels, or an Airbnb. Carleton University also offers a range of less expensive accommodation options in campus residence.
When selecting accommodations other than the IST affiliated hotels, please be mindful of the distance to the conference venue. Participants staying elsewhere will be responsible for reaching the designated shuttle pick up and drop off locations or arranging their own transportation to and from the conference venue at Carleton.
