Instructions for Oral Presentations (Papers, Speed talks, and Dialogues Sessions)

Paper presentations: Paper sessions are 90 minutes in length. For sessions with 4 papers, presentations should be 15 minutes long. This leaves 30 minutes of discussion (7 minutes each). For sessions with 3 papers, presentations should be 18 minutes in length. This leaves 36 minutes of discussion (12 minutes each). Unless other arrangements have been announced, the last presenter acts as the chair for the session and is tasked with strictly enforcing time allotments. The conference organizers thank you for your cooperation in keeping to the allotted time limits. A draft of the full paper should be uploaded to the conference management system by June 2nd. There are no strict guidelines regarding paper length or format.

Speed talks: Speed talk sessions are 60 minutes in length. For sessions with 5 papers, talks should be 6 minutes long. For sessions with 4 papers, talks should be 7 minutes long. Talks are followed by 30 minutes of breakout discussion. Unless other arrangements have been announced, the last presenter acts as the chair for the session and is tasked with strictly enforcing time allotments. The conference organizers thank you for your cooperation in keeping to the allotted time limits.

Dialogue sessions: Dialogue sessions are typically 60 or 90 minutes in length. They come in a variety of formats as determined by the session convenor(s). Contributors are asked to contact the convenor(s) of their session for details on presentation length and discussion format. If the session has any special requirements, the convenor(s) should contact the conference organizers as soon as possible.

Slides: Make sure that you turn up well before your session starts in order to load your slides and meet the other speakers. Please bring your presentation on a USB flash drive. Presentations should be in Microsoft PowerPoint (PPT) format. All projectors are set to display in 16:9 format.

Instructions for Poster Presentations

Posters printouts will be displayed for the duration of the conference in the central gathering space. Printouts should be up to 2’ wide x 3’ high (please let us know if you need more space). We ask that you please mount your poster to the designated boards the morning of June 24th and that you attend your poster during the poster sessions as indicated in the program. Presenters are responsible for removing their materials from the boards at the end of the conference.
