IT Service Catalogue iconLike many universities, Carleton’s IT services are delivered using a distributed service delivery model. In this model, a “central” IT organization, ITS at Carleton, supports enterprise-wide IT services such as student information systems, HR, and payroll. There are separate IT service units within most faculties, as well as various IT organizations which support everything from Teaching & Learning technologies, to library management & scholarly publishing, to campus safety technologies, to auxiliary systems such as parking or athletic program registration, etc.

In the federated service delivery model, because each IT service provider may have its own website and/or help desk, obtaining institution-wide view of IT services, can be challenging.

This IT Service Catalogue was developed as an initiative identified in Carleton’s IT Strategic Plan to present an overview of all IT services, regardless of which of Carleton’s two dozen IT Service providers is providing the service. It is not intended to replace the detail found in individual service-providers’ websites, but rather to provide a campus-wide overview.

To support this, each IT service is presented in a succinct 1-page format answering what the service is, to whom it is available, its pricing, and support.
