October 29, 2020 at 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM

Location:Online Event

Immigration law restricts the mobility of migrants and refugees and provides some with permanent legal status while denying others such access. Three McGill PhD students from different disciplines will share their research on interactions between refugees and the Canadian government as they seek entry, permission to remain, or are removed from Canada. Join us on Thursday, October 29 at 12:00 pm for our online session to learn more!

With presentations by:

  • Didem Doğar (Law) – The use of asylum testimonies in security certificate proceedings
  • Jaime Lenet (Social Work) – Removing refugee claimants from Canada
  • Alicia Poole (Sociology) – The diverse migratory journeys of Iraqis to Canada
