Effective April 3, 2023, all LLeaP participants will register for lecture and workshop events/series via LLeaP Learn, our new registration and learning platform.

Participants who wish to withdraw from an event/series will receive the following reimbursement on their original form of payment.
For requests that are made:
- Within 10 or more business days* prior to the series start date:
- Full refund less the $15.00 administrative fee

E.g. If your lecture begins on Thursday, March 16th, to receive a refund in category a. you must request your refund on or before Friday March 3rd.
If you would like to make an extenuating withdrawal request on compassionate grounds, click the button below to complete the form and provide formal documentation of your circumstances for consideration.
Exceptions will be granted at the discretion of the Lifelong Learning Program and will be subject to the $15.00 administrative fee.

Withdrawal requests received more than 10 business days prior to the single-lecture presentation will receive a full refund less the $15.00 administrative fee. No refunds will be accepted within 10 business days of the single-lecture presentation.
- All withdrawal requests must be submitted directly through your LLeaP Learn account
Payment
NON-PAYMENT OF COURSE FEES:
A reserved ‘seat’* in any LLeaP offering is only guaranteed once LLeaP has received your payment in full. Upon receiving a waitlist invitation and unless specified otherwise, participants will have 24 hours to complete all applicable payments. Non-payment after 24 hours will result in the loss of your reserved ‘seat’* in the course.
- *‘Seat’ refers to your reservation of a space in the course (online or in-person).
PARKING:
In collaboration with Parking Services, LLeaP is proud to offer a discounted parking rate to participants attending LLeaP series on Carleton’s main campus.
- Participants who register in any LLeaP series taking place on campus will receive parking instructions and a unique discount link in their welcome email upon successful enrollment.
- Parking is pay-per-validation.
- Participants must follow the instructions provided in order to ensure the discount code works.
- Failure to follow parking instructions will result in parking payment at the regular rate.
- If your parking discount does not work, visit our parking page for possible reasons why.
*LLeaP is not responsible for parking costs incurred for any reason.
LLeaP Credits and Gift Certificates
We are no longer issuing LLeaP credits.

ACCESSING LECTURES AND MATERIALS:
Registered participants acknowledge and accept that all learning materials, including lecture slides and Zoom links for online series, will be made accessible exclusively via the LLeaP Learn platform.
RESPECTFUL LEARNING ENVIRONMENT:

Participants must agree that when participating in Lifelong Learning Program events/series, they will:
- respect the privacy of others by refraining from taking screenshots and/or asking for personal information.

Scented products may cause allergic or asthmatic reactions that interfere with the health and learning of others.
Online Offerings
TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT FOR ONLINE OFFERINGS:
Participants require high-speed internet to participate in online LLeaP series/events.
Participants should install Zoom’s free application for Windows or Mac desktop computers (or tablets with keyboards) for the best experience. Participants are to test their ability to use Zoom by downloading the free desktop application and using this test link, https://zoom.us/test, before attending any online event/series.
RECORDINGS:
By registering for and participating in an online LLeaP series/event, participants understand and give consent to the recording of each Zoom meeting, and to the possible recording of their legal name, image, voice, and likeness from the gallery view, speaker view, share screen view, and/or chat transcript. Registered participants understand and agree that they are entitled to turn their web cameras off and change their Zoom display names to reflect an alias, but that their voice and/or chat messages may be captured in Zoom recordings, should those functionalities be used.
By registering for and participating in an online LLeaP series/event, participants further understand and give consent to the recording being uploaded to LLeaP Learn, accessible for viewing by registered participants logged into their personal LLeaP Learn accounts. Carleton University reserves the right to also use recordings for other educational, academic, or scholarly purposes, including promotional or advertising purposes. Registered participants understand and agree that participants’ access to recordings of online LLeaP series/events is temporary and will be removed 7 days from the date of the final series/event meeting.
LLeaP series/events contain elements protected by copyright law and are the property of Carleton University and/or their respective owners. All rights reserved. Registered participants are prohibited from recording and/or downloading Zoom meetings and/or recordings or any portion thereof, either through the application itself, any other application, smartphone, computer or device. Registered participants are prohibited from sharing their LLeaP Learn log in credentials and/or allowing non-registered persons to access and/or view recordings of online LLeaP series/events.
Carleton University reserves the right to disseminate partial or entire Zoom recordings for educational or promotional purposes on the LLeaP Learn platform or any other platform used by Carleton University. This policy does not guarantee the availability of recordings for all online LLeaP series/events.
VIRTUAL OFFERING WAIVER:
Online participants must agree to the following: “I will be participating remotely in the Lifelong Learning Program and will not be on-site at Carleton University. I will be using my personal computer, phone, and internet at my own expense for the duration of the Lifelong Learning Program offering I am enrolled in. I understand that it is my responsibility to ensure I have up-to-date antivirus software and other internet security to prevent malicious software that could damage my computer systems or those of the University. If any technical issues arise, such as a cyber-attack or loss of data, the University will not be held liable for any and all costs, expenses, or claims arising from a loss of data or any other software or hardware damage.”
TECHNOLOGY ISSUES WHILE ATTENDING ONLINE EVENTS:
Participants should contact LLeaP for assistance if technology problems have barred them from participating in online events/series despite repeated attempts to solve the problems. If technology problems on LLeaP’s side prevent an online event/series from running or completing, LLeaP will offer a rescheduled lecture, or a recorded lecture. Participants will be offered a refund if they are unable to attend a rescheduled lecture for which a recording is not possible. Reimbursements will be pro-rated, and no administrative fee will apply in this instance.
The Lifelong Learning Program reserves the right to change its policies at any time. Please ensure that you have read and understood the policies before registering for a LLeaP offering.
