MCP Course Proposal Application

Prospective course instructors are invited to submit the Mini Course Proposal Application.

  • Instructor information

  • We require the sign off of your supervisor (or equivalent) in order for your application to be considered. Please have a conversation with them prior as they will be contacted.
  • Max. file size: 15 MB.
  • Back up instructor

    All courses will be required to have a backup instructor who will be called in to teach the course if the original instructor cancels after students have been placed in the course. This person can be the same as your co-instructor.
  • Course proposal

    Have a conversation with your department or supervisor about your intention to teach a mini course. This is a great way to understand the time commitment for course week and to gain ideas, from past courses, on the types of activities that have been offered. Your department will let you know what resources they have to support you in planning your course.
  • The course title is extremely important! Students are given over 160 courses to choose from each year, your title needs to be captivating and relevant for students to click on your course description. Courses should be designed to give students a glimpse of what they can study within your department.
  • Maximum 500 words (3,000 characters). If you are going to be covering a mature or sensitive topic issues, please detail this in your description. List any mandatory days students must attend (lab training, final project etc.)
    Instructors can request specific classroom to fit the needs of their course. Any department specific rooms are the responsibility of the instructor to book, otherwise recruitment will assign courses to a room on campus. Computer labs are assigned on a first come, first serve. *Please note that room choice will be limited this year due to external factors. If you have a departmental room available to you, we advise that you use it if possible.*
