Carleton Online has established the Online Learners’ Network (OLN), an online community discussion space hosted in Brightspace.

In the OLN, you can post, read and reply to messages on different topics, and chat with other members. Use the discussions to connect with others and learn about campus resources that can help you succeed in your online studies.

This platform is not linked to your regular courses and their online discussions, so it is a less formal setting without the participation of your TAs or instructors.

Join the community and connect with your friends, classmates and us today!

“Ask an Expert” Events

This term, we’ve invited several campus departments to host live, virtual sessions in the Online Learners’ Network (OLN), where they will give an overview of the services they offer and explain how they can help you!

Note: By registering for an Ask an Expert event, you will be enrolled in the OLN in Brightspace, which is where the webinar will take place. You will receive a reminder 24 hours before the event.

Session 2: e-Proctoring for Online Exams

  • Date: Nov. 9, 2021
  • Time: Noon to 1 p.m.
  • Description: Our guests will explain and demonstrate the use of two e-Proctoring platforms, highlight key support resources, and address questions so you can avoid any hiccups on exam day. Questions must be submitted in advance, either when you register or by posting them to the OLN’s online discussion.

Register early! The first two students to register and attend the session will receive a full zip sweater or joggers — their choice!
