The Honourable Dalton McGuinty, premier of Ontario, made a surprise appearance at Carleton University on September 30 to talk to students about the issues affecting the province’s post-secondary education system. McGuinty, who used to teach business law at Carleton, told the capacity crowd that his government is making an “investment in future prosperity” with a $6.2 billion commitment to post-secondary education over the next five years. Of that amount, $1.5 billion will be directed to student aid.
