On March 15, 2010, H. Garfield Emerson became the Faculty’s first
executive-in-residence.
Mr. Emerson’s extensive experience in law, business and finance, makes him an invaluable resource to faculty and students seeking insight on legal issues, leadership, and corporate governance.
He brings to this role a varied and distinguished career, having served as
national chair of Fasken Martineau, LL P, a leading international business law firm. He was also president and CE O of NM Rothschild & Sons Canada, Ltd. , director of the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation and The Sunnybrook Foundation, chairman of the Board of Rogers Communications,
Inc., and Victoria University’s Capital Campaign at the University of Toronto. Currently, he is director of CAE , Inc., Canadian Tire Corporation,
Ltd., and Sentry Select Capital Corporation, and manages a number of private business enterprises.
