For an aspiring sports journalist, being selected to chronicle her experiences before, during and after attending the Olympic Games in Torino, Italy, is a golden opportunity.

Katie Lewis was the only Canadian journalism student — and one of just six from around the world — selected for the Coca-Cola Live Olympic Journalist Program. Lewis wrote for the “Live Olympic Newsflash” newsletter and a blog on the Coca-Cola Web site. Lewis received travel, accommodation and a cash award.
Lewis’ motivation for entering the competition came from her brother, a member of Canada’s national rowing team. “His determination, flexibility and accuracy are all attributes I wish to live my own life by,” she says.
