Like Athena from the head of Zeus, the Sprott School of Business sprung from Public Affairs and Management, a Faculty in its own right on May 1, 2006.

“This upgrade in status for the Sprott School of Business places Carleton on an equal footing with other Canadian university business programs which will allow the school to attract more funding and resources and recruit additional high quality faculty,” says David Atkinson, president of Carleton.

The Sprott School of Business, which will retain its name, boasts one of the largest PhD programs in the country. Among its programs are the unique Bachelor of International Business that includes a year of education abroad, a 12-month MBA with an emphasis on integrated learning, and three international degrees including MBAs in Iran and China. As a faculty, Sprott will pursue Association for the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business accreditation which will continue to enhance the school’s reputation nationally and internationally.
