Twenty-eight years into a career in the regulatory science area in the federal and provincial governments, Wendy Sexsmith returned to university. Most recently the acting chief scientist at Health Canada, Sexsmith took up the post of Federal Public Servant in Residence in the school of public policy and administration in March. As part of the Government of Canada initiative, she will develop a regulatory science program to enhance graduate and professional education in regulation—a goal that supports more effective regulation and regulatory systems in Canada and that provides the public service with high quality, scientifically trained individuals.
