Sustainability in its broadest sense encompasses issues such as human rights, social justice, gender equity and freedom of expression, according to Corporate Knights, the Toronto-based magazine for responsible business. In this year’s ranking of how well universities incorporate sustainability into their programs, the magazine expanded from business, law and engineering schools to architecture, urban planning, public policy and journalism. Carleton ranked first in the country in public policy and administration, and second in journalism.
