Dear Students,
Welcome to the Pickering Centre for Research in Human Development! Our aim is to make this Centre a home within a home as you progress through your graduate programs at Carleton. You will have opportunities to attend invited lectures and workshops, and gain access to the resources we offer as a collective of researchers studying developmental science. As a Pickering Centre graduate student, you are eligible for annual travel and expense funding—make use of it!
As Director, and on behalf of all our faculty members, we are committed to providing you with a positive and enriching experience. With that in mind, know that this Centre also relies on student input and participation to succeed. Is there a topic you want to explore as a group? Do you want to attend a workshop on a special topic? Would you like to start a journal club or brown bag session with other graduate students? Let us know, and we’ll provide the resources to make it happen.
I wish you all great success and look forward to seeing you all.
