The Office of the Provost and Vice-President (Academic), through Teaching and Learning Services, invites faculty and instructors to submit undergraduate student nominations for the annual Provost Scholar Award. Up to two awards per Faculty are available, valued at $1,000 each.
This award is given to outstanding undergraduate students who exemplify student engagement by excelling in at least two of the following four areas: community engagement; international learning experience; immersive learning; and undergraduate research. Although there can be a broad interpretation of these four categories due to the variety of activities and engagement happening across the university, the nomination must be linked to students’ studies at Carleton.
The Peter J. Ricketts Outstanding Provost Scholar Award, valued at $1,700, will be presented to one exceptional Provost Scholar Award recipient (the award may also be divided between two recipients). The recipient of this award will be selected by the Provost. We encourage nominations for students who identify as 2SLGBTQ+, Racialized, Indigenous and students with disabilities. The deadline to submit your nominations is February 19, 2024.
Please visit the Provost Scholar Award webpage for additional details.
Award recipients will be invited, along with their nominators and family members, to attend an award presentation event in the spring.
Thank you for your continued support of this initiative and for your dedication to recognizing and honouring students’ accomplishments.
Sincerely,
L. Pauline RankinProvost and Vice-President (Academic)
