Expectations as a QES Scholar during the Mobility Period

The QES programme is in line with my research interests and career objectives. As an early career researcher, my expectation is that by the end of the mobility period I should be able to finish three papers for publication in peer review journal. The programme will also build my capacity in climate change and sustainable development. I also want to use the opportunity to build a network with colleagues from other African Universities for collaborative research and projects. My participation in the program also seeks to build my capacity to support the development of our proposed new PhD program in “Climate Change and Sustainable Development” at the Centre for Climate Change and Sustainability Studies.

The QES Project and Advancement of your Career

As mentioned, as an Early Career researcher, this program is very important for my career advancement as senior lecturer who is seeking for promotion to the rank of an Associate Professor.  The project has given me ample opportunity to work on a number of research papers for publication. Publication is one of the important criteria for my promotion to the rank of an Associate Professor. The societal transformation aspect of the project will also help me in my extension and community engagement in Ghana in climate change and sustainable development.
