Biosketch
I am a Malawian lady, lecturing at Mzuzu University. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Science (Education), Master’s Degree in Information Theory, Coding and Cryptography obtained at Mzuzu University and a Master’s of Science Degree in Mathematical Sciences obtained at African Institute of Mathematical Sciences in Tanzania.
Research Interests and societal interests
My research interests include:
- Modelling of infectious diseases
- Effects of climate change on infectious diseases
- Societies understanding of climate change to reduce spread of infectious diseases
Expectations as a QES Scholar during the Mobility Period
- To deepen my understanding on the causes and effects of climate change
- To explore cost effective ways of mitigating climate change
- To gain more understanding on how climate change contributes to transmission of infectious diseases
- To establish networks and collaboration with other scholars and Carleton community
- To participate in climate change community outreach organized by Carleton University
- To learn hands-on activities in my field of study
- To gain understanding on Canadian culture and how they deal with infectious diseases

I hope that the QES project will advance my career by:
- improving research writing skills
- Improving analytical skills
- gaining knowledge on writing proposals for research grants
- widening my knowledge on climate change and related issues
