Sepideh Mirshekar is a Ph.D. student at Carleton University. She obtained her Master’s degree in Structural Engineering at Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), Iran after graduating in Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering at the same university. Sepideh’s research interests include FE modeling, high-rise buildings, and concrete structures. She worked as an engineer in a consulting engineering firm before starting her Ph.D. studies. Her current research is on Timber-Concrete Composite (TCC) structures. She is working on the development of a 3D modeling approach for TCC members under static loads using the VecTor3 software. During the past years, she served as a teaching assistant for several courses including Loading, Concrete Structure, and FORTRAN computer programming. In her spare time, Sepideh enjoys playing piano and swimming.
