For “original contributions to the area of guidance, navigation, and control systems for spacecraft formation flying, proximity operations, and space robotics“, Prof. Ulrich was elected Associate Fellow by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).

AIAA Associate Fellows are individuals of distinction who have made notable and valuable contributions to the arts, sciences, or technology of aeronautics or astronautics. Each year, only one for every 150 voting members is selected and approved. The selection process is highly competitive, and only approximately 17% of the AIAA membership are associate fellows.

AIAA will formally honor and induct the 2024 class at its AIAA Associate Fellows Induction Ceremony on Wednesday evening, 10 January 2024, at the Hyatt Regency Orlando, in Orlando, FL.
