Emma Neale is a PhD student in the School of Public Policy and Administration (SPPA). Her research interests are on competition and air transport policy. Emma is an advocate for affordable air travel and believes the competition of a market directly impacts affordability. Emma’s aim is to focus her research on questions such as how future mergers of airlines may influence market structure, what policies exist in the industry that hinder or support competition and has the pandemic changed this analysis?
Before beginning her PhD, Emma worked for an international aviation organization. Emma holds a M.A. and B.A.H. in Economics from Queen’s University. She additionally holds a Transport Canada Commercial Pilots License.
