To all members of the Carleton community,
I am pleased to announce that Yolana Junco is the successful candidate for Carleton’s Associate Vice-President (Recreation and Athletics) effective July 1, 2024.
Yolana has served as Director of Finance and Operations in the Department of Recreation and Athletics since 2016 where she has demonstrated remarkable leadership in the strategic direction and operation of the athletics facilities and related operational services that align with the university’s Strategic Integrated Plan. She has led the restructuring in the areas of business development, information technology, facility maintenance and operations to maximize revenue and reduce operating expenses. She was previously the Assistant Director, Business Operations (Recreation and Athletics) and the Administrative Officer in the Faculty of Science. Yolana is a Carleton alumna with a Master of Business Administration and holds a Certified Professional Accountant designation.
Yolana will succeed Jennifer Brenning who has served in the position for the past 7 years and with the Department of Recreation and Athletics for 19 years. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Jennifer for the many extraordinary contributions she has made throughout her mandate in Recreation and Athletics.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who assisted in the selection process for this important position. Please join me in wishing Jennifer well as she heads into well-deserved retirement, and in congratulating Yolana on her new appointment!
