Our Excellence Journey

Our excellence journey began in 2019 with Excellence Canada’s Excellence, Innovation and Wellness (EIW) standard. This framework provides a progressive road map for us to continuously strive for organizational excellence.

In June 2019, the Students and Enrolment Division earned Bronze level certification in Excellence, Innovation and Wellness.

In June 2023, the Students and Enrolment Division earned the Canada Awards for Excellence (CAE) Gold level certification.

We are continuing on our journey of continuous improvement, and will use this webpage to share relevant information along the way.

The Organizational Excellence Standard

The Organizational Excellence Standard is designed to meet our needs today while future-proofing our organization for tomorrow. OES rewards and recognizes excellence through the prestigious Canada Awards for Excellence program. Organizations that implement OES can become certified and recognized nationally at four progressive levels: OES Essentials, OES Gold, OES Platinum and OES Canada Order of Excellence.

To learn more about the OES, please visit Excellence Canada’s website.

Your Organizational Excellence Support Team

Suzanne Blanchard is our Excellence Sponsor. With Suzanne’s support, a cross functional OES Working Group, chaired by Jennifer Brenning, was established to help support us in this endeavour. The working group mandate is to champion and lead this initiative by engaging staff, coordinating the work and communicating information.

Resources

Students and Enrolment Stories

We are dedicated to celebrating and acknowledging our team members, which is why we have a series of stories highlighting staff, successes, innovations and more. Explore our stories to see examples of how our division continuously strives for excellence.

Professional Development Opportunities

To help raise awareness of opportunities, we have compiled a list of some of the many professional development options available to our team at Carleton. This is not an exhaustive list, but we hope it can serve as a helpful resource to learn about options for continuing on a journey of life-long learning and continual improvement.

Poster Showcase

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Poster Showcase at the All Staff Breakfasts! We received a few requests to share the materials, so we are publishing a PDF of all the posters that were on display. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about any of the initiatives/projects/services, please consider speaking with your manager about inviting a representative from that team to speak at your next staff meeting. An accessible version of this file is available upon request.

Comments or Feedback

We hope that every member of the division can feel engaged in this process. With this in mind, we have included a feedback form below. If you have questions, comments or feedback about our excellence journey, please do not hesitate to use this form to share your thoughts.
