What is it?

Enterprise Funds are those which generate revenue for the University, but are not related to our primary functions of teaching and research. Examples include professional development services and seminars, non-credit course offerings, publications, space rental, and contract services.

Why is it important?

Entrepreneurial activities are not the primary function of the University, and as such, due diligence is required during the planning and execution of any sale or provision of services.  Entrepreneurial activities have distinct reporting requirements, some which may be government legislated.  For example, HST may be applicable.  To capture these requirements, entrepreneurial activities are assigned unique Fund codes.
