What is it?
Query is a level of authority granted to an individual in order to view transactions in a particular Fund or orgn in FAST Finance Reporting for the purposes of financial monitoring, reconciliation, or reporting.
Why is it important?
All electronic financial systems at Carleton are governed by Fund-Orgn security. This means that to view or create a transaction against any FOAPAL, a user must have the appropriate level of authority to successfully pass the security checks. If you need to view a transaction for a particular fund-orgn combination, then you need query authority in order to do so.
Query authority does not allow an individual to enter a fund or orgn number in any electronic system for the purposes of creating a financial transaction.
