At a ceremony in Ottawa on June 7, 2012, Professor Katherine Graham received the Volunteer Service Award from the Government of Ontario, recognizing her many years of contribution as scholar, administrator, media commentator and volunteer supporting the development of the non-profit sector in Ontario, Canada and internationally.  Locally, she has served for many years as a volunteer  groomer of the trails bordering Charleston Lake, near her home in Lansdowne, Ontario.   Earlier this year, Professor Graham, who recently completed her term as Associate Vice-President (Academic) and is a former Dean of the Faculty of Public Affairs, received the Leading Women Building  Communities award from the province.  The Katherine Graham Annual Lecture on Aboriginal Policy was established in recognition of her three decades of leadership at Carleton University.
