Dr. Tessa Hebb and 3ci Research Assistant Heather Hachigian will speak on the topic, “Measuring the Impact of Shareholder Engagement,” this Wednesday, October 24th, as part of the Environmental Policy & Economics Speaker Series. In a paper on the same topic, Hebb and Hachigian argue that corporate engagement has the potential to produce a positive change in company behavior as a result of the fact that large institutional investors in Canada are increasingly seeing the value in mobilizing shareholder rights to effect change in the environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards of companies in their investment portfolios.
